Far Far Away

Vergelegen, based in Somerset West, Cape Town is one of the oldest most stately wine farms in the area. The Stables Restaurant is a new addition to their already impressive buildings. The thatch rooms is consistent throughout and brings a timelessness to this gorgeous farm.

Lavender surrounds the buildings with different types in the formal gardens. They grow their own vegetables such as a variety of lettuces. It is beautiful to walk around the paths discovering new and wonderful sights.

The flower gardens especially now that it is almost spring is magnificent. South African wild flowers as well as others such as Azalias fill the area with the scent of the sweetest boutiques.

The oak tree is all it glory spreads it's branches in a welcoming gesture. It has the royal stamp of approval.

The original manor house is a piece of South African history, that is one of the finest.

On house looks out onto the main lawn.

The out houses, old slave bell, iron gates are all modern sculptures to compliment the gardens filled with large camelia trees established amongst yellowwood trees.

Other buildings included the old library but also the new tasting room that will leave you wanting more.
